VisionCorps Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response
A Message From VisionCorps President & CEO, Dennis Steiner
Monday, September 28, 2020
VisionCorps continues to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and we have been adjusting our services and programs to continue operation, wherever possible, during this time. As of today, ALL VisionCorps locations are closed to the public. Facilities are locked and will remain closed to the public until further notice. If you need to visit a facility for business purposes, you will need to make arrangements with a member of the VisionCorps staff and follow all protocols in place.
VisionCorps is working to continue to add service opportunities for clients, despite limiting in-home, one-on-one services except for our most vulnerable clients. Tele-intervention has begun with VisionCorps’ youth clients and their families, using video to connect rehabilitation staff with caregivers to continue assisting children with vision loss in their development. For adult support groups, VisionCorps has shifted to utilizing technology and is giving clients the opportunity to call in, or participate with video, for support groups in each county. In addition, a general social group was developed to encourage communication among clients to keep spirits up, a group was developed for clients of orientation and mobility instruction, and a book club is also held weekly.
VisionCorps administrative employees (finance, information technology, marketing, fundraising, human resources) continue to work remotely. Should you need anything from these departments, please dial your contact’s phone number as calls are being forwarded. VisionCorps will continue to follow state government guidelines with respect to returning to work.
VisionCorps’ Enterprise Group continues to operate production lines in the Enterprise Group. The safety of employees working on these lines is of utmost importance to the VisionCorps team and practices are in place in accordance with CDC and government guidelines. VisionCorps’ Contract Management Services department is able to continue work remotely.
VisionCorps has several tenants in their Lancaster and York facilities. We encourage patrons of those entities to contact the business directly to discuss if they are operating.
VisionCorps plans to continue to follow recommendations found here and will continue to update the status of services on social media. Interested parties can also dial the main number, 866-876-6550 and select option 8 for up to date information.
We thank you for your patience during this time of uncertainty.
